Family of late Gospel Gbaraka, an accounting graduate from the Imo State polytechnic who was allegedly killed yesterday by one Inspector James a Marine police officer around Abonnema Wharf in Port Harcourt is now seeking for Justice.Father of the deceased, 62 years old Vincent Gbaraka has threatened to commit suicide if the death of his son is not avenged .The senior Garaka said his only son left him for work on Saturday morning but never returned home.
“In the morning, I left house for service hoping he will come back, what I heard was that I should take heart, that I should go to Choba teaching hospital, when I got to Choba, I saw my only son in a pool of blood with bullets holes all over his head’
President of the Ogoni Youth Federation Legborsi Yormabana on his part gave 48 hours to the police to prosecute the accused police officer or the group will shut down the streets in protest.
He also berated the company where the late Gospel Gbaraka worked “for failing to show concern on the death of their staff “
Legborsi said Ogoni youths have resolved to shut the company down if they fail to show responsibility to the family of the deceased
Police Commissioner Commissioner Joseph Mukan assured that Justice will be done.He condemned the unjustifiable use of the firearms by the police adding that the perpetrator will not go unpunished.
CP Mukan appealed to the family to be strong in the face of the huge loss promising that the accused police officer is already undergoing orderly room trial.
