The commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs Inime AGUMA on Thursday has pledged to support organization in providing counseling, medical and legal aid to victims of sexual abuses and gender violence in the state.
She said that the move was in response to increased cases of the said act and encouraged residents to report all gender based violence, sexual abuse, domestic violence and other forms.
“Our ministry has set up hotlines and other collaborative efforts, aimed at fast tracking immediate response for victims of sexual abuse and other forms of gender based violence.
“The ministry is working in collaboration with other organisations to provide counselling, medical help, psychological help, legal aid and prosecution of offenders.
